Altima Leads Nissan Division Sales for Fourth Consecutive Month
CARSON, Calif., March 3 -- For the fourth consecutive month,
Nissan's new Altima drove monthly sales for Nissan Motor Corporation U.S.A.
(NMC). With 13,039 units, Altima is up 20.4 percent versus last month and
7.1 percent versus last year. Altima model year '98 is also up 12.1 percent.
Total Nissan Division sales were 42,051 units, which represents a
13 percent increase over last month.
Maxima sales of 9,100 units were up 11.5 percent over last month. Sentra
was up 5.5 percent over last month, with sales of 4,710 units. Total sedan
sales of 26,849 units were up 14.5 percent over last month.
Total pickup sales, including the Frontier, were 5,953 units, up
24.8 percent versus last month. Nissan Quest recorded sales of 2,074 units,
up 10.5 percent over last month. Pathfinder had sales of 5,992 units.
Combined truck sales were 14,019 units for the month, up 10.5 percent over
January.
Combined sales for Nissan and Infiniti Divisions for February totaled
46,154 units, a 12.6 percent increase over last month. Sales of Nissan's
North American-produced vehicles accounted for 63.5 percent of February sales.
Nissan Motor Corporation U.S.A., which includes the Infiniti luxury
division, markets and distributes Nissan and Infiniti vehicles in the United
States to more than 1,200 dealers.
