Record February Sales For American Honda
TORRANCE, Calif., March 3 -- American Honda, led by February
sales records for Accord and Civic, set a new total vehicle record of 71,770
for the month, up 8.3% over last year, according to figures released today by
American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
Accord sales of 30,373 were up 19.4% over last year and topped the
previous February record set in 1990. Record Civic sales of 24,182 were 1.8%
over last year's record. Honda Division overall recorded its best February
numbers ever with 65,544 total vehicle sales, up 13.6%.
Total truck sales for American Honda also hit record highs for February,
sparked by the popular CR-V sport utility vehicle, at 7,003 units up 134.3%
over last year, and the Acura SLX luxury sport utility vehicle, which recorded
a 33.4% improvement.
