Land Rover Reports February Sales

    LANHAM, Md., March 3 -- Land Rover North America, Inc. today
reported February sales of 1,284 compared to the 1,394 units sold in
February 1997.
    Charles R. Hughes, President, Land Rover North America, Inc., said, "After
a strong finish and record sales in calendar year 1997, 1998 has started more
slowly than anticipated,.  As our dealers' inventories rise and certain models
become available, we expect to see sales improve."
