Chrysler Awards 300M and LHS Sunroof Contract to Inalfa Roof Systems U.S.A.

DETROIT, March 3 -- Chrysler Corporation has
awarded Inalfa Roof Systems U.S.A. the sole sunroof contract for the
redesigned 1999 Chrysler LHS and all-new 1999 Chrysler 300M sports sedan. The
announcement was made by Joseph R. Corace, president and chief executive
officer of Inalfa Roof Systems U.S.A.
The sunroofs on the 300M will incorporate an express-open function and
will be 15 percent lighter, 20 percent thinner and more durable than previous
generation modules.
Inalfa U.S.A. also supplies sunroofs for the Jeep Grand Cherokee and the
Dodge Neon, making the company's total contract with Chrysler one of the
largest in the sunroof industry.
"Inalfa's relationship with Chrysler continues to grow as does the
consumer demand for factory-installed sunroofs," said Corace. "By 2001 nearly
two million sunroof modules will be built for North America alone."
Named after Chrysler's famed 300 "letter series" cars sold between 1955
and 1965, the 1999 Chrysler 300M carries on in the same spirit of those
uniquely American performance icons. However, today's 300M is a modern
interpretation of the original; it offers a balance of powerful performance,
outstanding fuel efficiency and precise handling along with comfort and
roominess not found in many premium sport sedans.
The 1999 Chrysler LHS is designed for those who want an American
automobile that makes a statement with its sophisticated styling, yet has the
handling characteristics of a touring sedan. LHS offers its owners a spacious
interior filled with premium features.
Inalfa Roof Systems U.S.A., headquartered in Auburn Hills, Mich., is part
of the Inalfa Industries group of companies, with operations in North America,
South America, Europe and the Pacific Rim.
Inalfa U.S.A. sunroof contracts with Saturn Corp., Jeep Grand Cherokee and
Mitsubishi are among the largest in North America. Inalfa U.S.A. had $70
million in sales in 1997 and has booked sales of more than $100 million for
2000.
