Lear Announces Record Date for Annual Meeting of Shareholders

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Feb. 27 -- Lear Corporation
announced today that its annual meeting of shareholders will be held at the
Automotive Hall of Fame, 21400 Oakwood Boulevard, Dearborn, MI, on Thursday,
May 14, 1998, at 10:00 a.m., Eastern Daylight Time.
    The record date for determination of stockholders entitled to notice of,
and vote at, the meeting is March 16, 1998.
