Italian Auto Electronics Manufacturer Marelli Orders Software, Real-Time Simulation Equipment From Applied Dynamics International

    ANN ARBOR, Mich., Feb. 25 -- Italian automotive electronics
supplier Magneti Marelli, Spa., of Bologna, has ordered several hundred
thousand dollars in sophisticated embedded systems software and real-time
simulation system hardware from Applied Dynamics International.
    ADI will install the equipment, which will be used in the development of
electronic engine controls for a number of European automobiles, during the
second quarter of 1998.
    "The system we're installing for Marelli is a large and sophisticated
one," said ADI president and chief executive officer John McIntosh. "It'll be
used for target-based rapid prototyping to develop engine electronic controls
for next-generation automobiles.  We're delighted to have won this business;
Marelli is a highly respected automotive electronics company that has a wide
European customer base."
    McIntosh said the Marelli sale was accomplished by ADI's European sales
and technical staff in Wellingborough, England.
