USCAR Names New Communications DirectorSOUTHFIELD, Mich., Feb. 25 -- Beryl Goldsweig of Ford Motor Co. is communications director for the United States Council for Automotive Research (USCAR) for a two-year term effective March 1. In this position, she will be responsible for communications for USCAR and the industry-government Partnership for a New Generation of Vehicles (PNGV). She succeeds Ronald L. Beeber of General Motors Corp., who returns to the company as director of government and community relations for Delphi Automotive Systems. Goldsweig has been Ford's manager of internal communications for the past three years, and has held a variety of other communications and public affairs posts during her 20-year career with the company. Beeber's duties at GM over the past 28 years have included communications posts in Detroit and Cleveland, and government relations assignments in Detroit and Washington. USCAR was formed in 1992 by Chrysler, Ford and GM to strengthen the technology base of the domestic auto industry through cooperative, pre-competitive research.
