Hayes Lemmerz Receives FFC(TM) Aluminum Wheel Contract For Jeep Grand Cherokee

    ROMULUS, Mich., Feb. 18 -- Hayes Lemmerz International, Inc.
, announced today that it has received a contract from Chrysler
Corporation to supply two aluminum wheels for the 1999 Jeep Grand
Cherokee sport utility vehicle.
    Hayes will produce both wheels utilizing its patented Full-Face Cast
(FFC(TM)) technology at the company's manufacturing facility in Gainesville,
Ga.  The contract is expected to result in annual sales of over $25 million.

contract is another example of the advantage we have in being a full-line
supplier.  This is our second high volume contract for the FFC(TM) and further
demonstrates the acceptance of this innovative product."
