Tenneco Automotive Names Larry Pavey Senior Vice President and General Manager

    LAKE FOREST, Ill., Feb. 13 -- Tenneco Automotive today
announced it has named Larry Pavey senior vice president and general manager
of the company's North American aftermarket business unit.
    As head of the company's North American aftermarket business, Pavey has
operational responsibility for one of the largest of Tenneco Automotive's five
worldwide strategic business units.  This business manufactures and markets
the industry's premier brands of ride control (Monroe(R) Sensa-Trac(R) shocks
and struts) and exhaust (Walker(R) Quiet Flow(R) and Dynomax(R) performance
muffler) products.

    With over 26 years of automotive experience, Pavey joins Tenneco
Automotive from Echlin, maker of RaybestosO brakes, where he was president of
the company's global brake operations.  Having served in a variety of senior
positions at Echlin, he returns to Tenneco Automotive where he began his
automotive career working in the Walker sales organization from 1977 until
1983.  Pavey attended the University of Cincinnati.
