The SAE/ESD (The Engineering Society) Foundation Banquet will be hosted by Chrysler Corp. on Wednesday evening, May 13 at the Westin Hotel. During the Banquet, Chrysler's Dennis Pawley will receive the 1998 Manufacturing Leadership Award for his contributions to automotive manufacturing. Proceeds benefit the educational efforts of the SAE and ESD Foundations. The IAM event is part of SAE's strategic plan to encourage mobility organizations to consider the entire life cycle of a product -- of which the manufacturing process is one key element. The Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and ESD are IAM co-sponsors. SAE, SME and ESD members may attend the event at no charge. Non-members may attend the full conference for $175 if they register before April 17. Expo-only tickets are $30. Some exhibit space is still available.
