Irausa American Co. Plant Receives Ford Q-1 Award

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Feb. 9 -- Irausa American Co. today
announced that its manufacturing plant in Hopkinsville, Ky., I.G. Autotrim
Inc., received the Q-1 Quality award from Ford Motor Company .  The
recognition was earned in November 1997 and the award was presented Feb. 4,
1998.
    The Ford Motor Company Q-1 award is considered a key milestone for
implementation of total quality management in a company.  To qualify for the
Q-1 award, a company must establish its excellence in quality systems with
quantitative measurements, as well as demonstrate evidence that its systems
obtain the desired results.
    Richard Gorski, CEO of Irausa American Co. said, "This award is a tribute
to the hard work and dedication of the I.G. Autotrim/Irausa employees and puts
us in the position to receive additional business from Ford in the future."
    I.G. Autotrim's 100,000 square foot Hopkinsville, Ky., facility produces
headliners for the Ford Ranger and was recently awarded headliner business for
the 2001 Explorer and F-Series commercial pickups.  The facility produces a
total of 1 million headliners per year including General Motors and BMW
business.
    Irausa American Co. is a Spain-based producer of interior components and
systems for the automotive industry.  The company has annual global sales of
more then $400 million, with projected sales in excess of $700 million by the
year 2000.
