United Recyclers Group Forms a Strategic Affiance with Mitchell InternationalDENVER, Feb. 6 -- United Recyclers Group, LLC (URG) today announced a strategic alliance with Mitchell International, a division of Thomson Publishing Corporation. URG through its recently created joint venture with Actual Systems of America (ASA), will provide its 360+ partners with the Mitchell collision estimating guides, electronically, on URG's new Recyclers Information Management System (RIMS). Marc Brungger, Mitchell's Senior Director of Publications, said, "This alliance provides new tools to this progressive group of auto recyclers and shows our commitment to alliances with the automotive recycling community. This electronic information will allow the URG partners to communicate more effectively with their customers, using Mitchell collision estimating guides as a common language." URG's new software, Pinnacle Auto Recycling Trading System (PARTS) integrates Mitchell's new product with modern tools for recyclers, including digital imaging, bar code functions, and the use of the Internet. Current systems, utilized by most of North America's 4,000 computerized auto recyclers, run on decade old platforms, making modern software impractical to implement. URG's system utilizes UNIX and FOXPRO Windows applications and can be integrated with off the shelf software to increase its functionality. URG's goal is to build a premium trading group, redefine the auto recycling industry, and prove that URG parts are the preferred brand of recycled parts. Ultimately, with modern technologies and strategic alliances like that with Mitchell, URG expects to leverage its partners sales and profits, while lowering automotive parts prices to The Automotive Aftermarket and consumers.
