Goodyear Elects Farley to Board of Directors

    AKRON, Ohio, Feb. 5 -- Katherine G. Farley, managing director
of Tishman Speyer Properties, has been elected to the Board of Directors of
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company.
    "Ms. Farley brings a wealth of international business experience, and we
are very pleased to welcome her to Goodyear," said Chairman and CEO Samir G.
Gibara.
    Farley, 48, has been managing director of the development company since
1993 and is responsible for the company's international expansion efforts,
particularly focusing on Latin America.  She also serves on the company's
management committee and chairs the compensation committee.
    Joining Tishman Speyer as managing director - international in 1984,
Farley had been responsible for international expansion into Europe and Asia,
including directing market research and risk analysis, identification,
negotiation and development of new opportunities.
    Currently she serves on the Board of Directors of Women in Need, a not-
for-profit organization providing transitional and permanent housing, job
training and support services for homeless women and children in New York.
    Farley received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University and a
Master's of Architecture degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
