Team Seattle Raises $190,000 for Children's Hospital at the 36th Annual Rolex 24

SEATTLE, Feb. 4 -- Team Seattle completed the grueling Rolex
24 Hours At Daytona today despite tremendous difficulties that plagued the
team all week. Both cars finished the race and took the checkered flag. In
so doing they raised $190,000 for Children's Hospital & Regional Medical
Center in Seattle, Washington.
The #23 car driven by Darryl Havens/Mike Conte/Bruno Lambert/Nick Holt
finished second in the GT3 class and seventh overall. The second team
car #24, driven by Don Kitch/Kim Wolfkill/Byron Sanborn/Angelo Cilli finished
12th in class after two lengthy engine rebuilds, showing a commitment by Alex
Job Racing to continue the effort and bring in the maximum pledge laps
possible for Children's Hospital.
"Last year Team Seattle hit a home run, bringing $80,000 back for the care
of the kids. This year we were looking for a grand slam and hit one over the
fence with $190, 000 and still climbing. Our second place finish in GT-3 was
additionally sweetened by a formal request from the Porsche factory team to
take the checker flag in formation with their winning GT-1 Porches. This made
Alex Job Racing a part of International Racing History. It doesn't get much
better then that," said Don Kitch Team Founder/Driver, Team Seattle.
"Obviously we are very pleased by the results of this weekend. Both teams
drove with consistency, patience, and with an eye towards the final goal --
finishing the race," said Alex Job, Alex Job Racing.
"Congratulations to Team Seattle, Alex Job Racing, and this year's
sponsors. These efforts show how the Motorsports community can pull together
to make a difference," said Ty Moore, TheRaceNet.com.
