Former Ford Executive Named to Post at ERIM Automotive

    ANN ARBOR, Mich., Feb. 3 -- Don Duncan has been named manager
of planning, marketing and business development for the Automotive &
Transportation Center at ERIM International, according to ERIM Automotive
Director Michael Dudzik.
    Duncan had been manager of worldwide mobile communications for Ford Motor
Company's Automotive Components Division since 1993.
    Headquartered in Ann Arbor, MI, ERIM International has a staff of nearly
600, an annual research budget of more than $65 million and research projects
worldwide.  ERIM's Automotive & Transportation Center was formed in 1996 to
provide research, engineering and testing services to transportation related
industries, as well as to government agencies and laboratories.
    Duncan began his career at Ford in 1971 as a product planning manager with
Philco-Ford in Philadelphia.  He went on to hold a series of key management
positions with the company in business planning, engineering, manufacturing,
marketing and sales.
    In 1973, he was appointed general manager of Philco-Ford of Canada's sales
and marketing operations and subsequently was named director of Electrical and
Electronics Operations for Ford of Europe.  Mr. Duncan joined Ford's
Electrical and Electronics Division (EED) as manufacturing manager for its
Lansdale (PA) Plant in 1977.  A year later he was named the division's
business planning manager at EED's headquarters in Rawsonville, Michigan.
    Duncan was appointed manager of planning, marketing and sales for EED's
audio products group in 1984 and six years later became manager of planning,
marketing and business development for Ford's Electronics Division with
worldwide responsibility for audio, instrumentation, security and safety
electronic systems.
    Prior to Ford, Duncan held various positions in engineering, product
planning and sales with General Electric and Rockwell Manufacturing Company.
He also served as a Utilities Officer and Contract Administrative Officer in
the United States Navy from 1961 until 1963.
    A native of Nashville, TN,  Mr. Duncan holds a bachelor's degree in
electrical engineering from Vanderbilt University and a master's degree in
business administration from Michigan State University.
    He lives with his wife in Bloomfield Hills, MI.  The couple has three
children.
