Ford Motor Co. Appoints ACI-Carron Primary Garage Service Supplier

    TROY, Mich., Feb. 3 -- American Commercial Industries, Inc.'s
(ACI), ACI-Carron division has been selected by Ford Motor Company
to be its primary outsource garage service supplier, supporting all Ford car
and truck prototype vehicle rework.  ACI-Carron will be responsible for
vehicle preparation for all safety vehicle barrier testing and post-crash
analysis, dedicating more than 280 hoists and the resources of four facilities
to support Ford's garage service needs.
    "Full-service prototype testing and rework is one of ACI-Carron's
specialties," said ACI president and CEO Larry O'Dowd.  "We are excited that
Ford has given us the opportunity to do one of the things we do best."
    With five locations, all in Inkster, Mich., ACI-Carron provides
engineering support from limited prototype part fabrication to full ground-up
prototype vehicle assembly.  Employing more than 500 people, the division
offers a wide range of services from full-vehicle testing to component-cycle
testing and failure analysis.
