Automotive Pump Agreement Announced; Detroit Pump Gains North American Distribution, Appoints SpecialistDETROIT, Feb. 2 -- Detroit Pump & Mfg., Co., Inc., established as a local pump distributor in 1926, announced an agreement with three of the world's leading pump manufacturers to become the exclusive North American distributor of process pumps for automotive projects. The announcement was made by Paul Horvath, vice president of sales and marketing, who said the agreement was reached to expand the company's ability to better serve its global automotive customers. The agreement combines the process pump product resources of ARO Fluid Products, Ingersoll-Dresser Pumps, and Waukesha Fluid Handling into a single-source availability. "With one phone call to our International Automotive Group, customers receive the product application and design assistance necessary to select the best pump for their specific needs," Horvath said. In a related move, Horvath also announced the appointment of Robert Spragg, as a process pump specialist for the recently expanded International Automotive Group. Spragg, who has 25 years of OEM sales and engineering experience, will be responsible for working with customers to identify the best pump equipment solutions for their automotive projects. This group also provides process pump support for automotive paint project use including the paint mix room, transfer and circulation of fluids, and final paint application.
