Automotive Pump Agreement Announced; Detroit Pump Gains North American Distribution, Appoints Specialist

DETROIT, Feb. 2 -- Detroit Pump & Mfg., Co., Inc.,
established as a local pump distributor in 1926, announced an agreement with
three of the world's leading pump manufacturers to become the exclusive North
American distributor of process pumps for automotive projects. The
announcement was made by Paul Horvath, vice president of sales and marketing,
who said the agreement was reached to expand the company's ability to better
serve its global automotive customers.
The agreement combines the process pump product resources of ARO Fluid
Products, Ingersoll-Dresser Pumps, and Waukesha Fluid Handling into a
single-source availability. "With one phone call to our International
Automotive Group, customers receive the product application and design
assistance necessary to select the best pump for their specific needs,"
Horvath said.
In a related move, Horvath also announced the appointment of Robert
Spragg, as a process pump specialist for the recently expanded International
Automotive Group. Spragg, who has 25 years of OEM sales and engineering
experience, will be responsible for working with customers to identify the
best pump equipment solutions for their automotive projects. This group also
provides process pump support for automotive paint project use including the
paint mix room, transfer and circulation of fluids, and final paint
application.
Detroit Pump & Mfg., Co., Inc. represents 40 of the world's leading fluid
handling manufacturers and has over 2,500 pumps in stock. The company
provides application support and process pump products for manufacturing,
automotive, construction, water resources and municipal uses.
