Walbro Corporation Names Lawrence C. Ward President, North American RegionCASS CITY, Mich., Jan. 27 -- Lawrence C. Ward has been named President, North American Region for Walbro Corporation , effective February 2, 1998. The announcement was made by Frank E. Bauchiero, President and Chief Operating Officer, Walbro Corporation. As President of Walbro Corporation's North American Region, Ward will be responsible for all aspects of the Company's operations in North America. He will be based at Walbro's North American Regional Headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan. "We are pleased to welcome Larry to Walbro," Bauchiero said in announcing Ward's appointment. "His extensive experience in operations will prove especially valuable to Walbro as we ramp up with many major production contracts in the coming months and years." Ward comes to Walbro from Breed Technologies Inc., Lakeland, Florida, where he served as Senior Vice President and also as President of Breed's Airbag and Seatbelt Division. He previously served as Vice President-Global Operations at AlliedSignal Safety Restraints, Sterling Heights, Michigan. Prior to joining AlliedSignal, Ward was Vice President, Manufacturing for Exabyte Corporation, Boulder, Colorado. He also served as Director, Worldwide Manufacturing Operations for Quantum Corporation, San Jose, California, and held a variety of positions in 13 years with IBM Corporation. Ward holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, California. A resident of Rochester Hills, Michigan, Ward is married and has four children.
