Defiance, Inc. Declares Regular Quarterly Dividend

    CLEVELAND, Jan. 23 -- Directors of Defiance, Inc.
today declared a regular quarterly dividend of $0.04 per share,
payable March 5, 1998 to shareholders of record February 13, 1998.
    Defiance, headquartered in Cleveland, is a supplier of tooling systems,
testing services, and specialty anti-friction bearings and precision-machined
components to the U.S. motor vehicle industry.
