Speedway Motorsports' Charlotte Motor Speedway Announces Seat Expansion

CONCORD, N.C., Jan. 22 -- With tickets for the May 24
Coca-Cola 600 selling at record pace, Charlotte Motor Speedway officials today
announced an estimated 11,000-seat expansion of the Diamond Tower Terrace
grandstand.
Already under construction, the project will also include the capacity for
12 luxury suites. The expansion will extend from the existing structure over
to turn two and will be completed for the May 16 running of the Winston and
other Coca-Cola 600 month activities. Upon completion of the project, total
seating for the Charlotte Motor Speedway will be approximately 147,000.
Already on sale, Diamond Tower Terrace extension tickets will cost the
same as seats in the original Diamond Tower Terrace. Tickets for the May 24
Coca-Cola 600 and Oct. 4 UAW-GM Quality 500 are $84 each. Tickets for the
Winston on May 16 are $63. Jewel Box seats must be purchased as part of a
special three-race (The Winston, Coca-Cola 600 and UAW-GM Quality 500) season
ticket for $300.
All the fan-friendly amenities found in the speedway's Diamond Tower
Terrace will be implemented in the extension, including the unique dual-
concourse/mezzanine levels and the 19-inch-wide stadium-style chair seats.
The Diamond Tower Terrace extension will also continue the special seat
color design from the Diamond Tower Terrace that displays a mammoth version of
The Speedway Club logo when the seats are not occupied.
Seats in the new Diamond Tower Terrace extension can be purchased by
visiting the speedway ticket office located on the second floor of Smith
Tower, or by calling (704) 455-3200.
