SportRack Automotive Receives Third Chrysler Gold Pentastar AwardSTERLING HEIGHTS, Mich., Jan. 22 -- SportRack Automotive, a subsidiary of Advanced Accessory Systems (AAS), today announced that all of its plants have received the coveted 1997 Chrysler Gold Pentastar award for top supplier quality. In fact, 1997 marks the third consecutive year that SportRack Automotive has received the award. "This achievement places SportRack Automotive among Chrysler's highest rated suppliers," said President and CEO Marshall Gladchun. "In 1998, we've raised the bar even higher as we continue to meet and exceed both our own and Chrysler's high standards for cost, quality and service." The sole supplier of Chrysler roof rack systems and accessories, SportRack Automotive manufactures roof luggage carriers and accessories for the Chrysler Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, Caravan, Voyager, Town & County and Durango. The Gold Pentastar award is given to Chrysler's supplier plants that meet at least a 90 percent performance rating for quality, delivery, warranty, cost and continuous improvement requirements.
