Chrysler and Mitsubishi Extend Current Arrangement

    AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Jan. 21 -- Chrysler Corporation
and Mitsubishi Motors Manufacturing of America (MMMA) today
announced the signing of a five-year vehicle distribution agreement through
the 2005 model year.
    The contract, an extension to the current arrangement, calls for vehicles
to be jointly designed by Chrysler and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation,
engineered by MMC, and produced by MMMA at its manufacturing plant in Normal,
Illinois.  Currently, MMMA produces two specialty coupes for Chrysler, the
Dodge Avenger and Chrysler Sebring Coupe.
    Today, MMMA produces about 65,000 vehicles for Chrysler per year.
Total production volumes will depend on sales demand.
