Productivity Technologies Corp. Announces New Low Cost Tooling ProductNEW YORK, Jan. 16 -- Productivity Technologies Corp. announced that its operating subsidiary, Atlas Technologies, has introduced new gripper/finger tooling for transfer presses. "The development of the new low cost tooling finger is in response to the dramatic shift from tandem press lines to transfer press production methods," according to Michael D. Austin, Atlas president. "The new product provides access to a market, with the potential to grow from $10 million to $100 million over the next decade. We expect to gain significant market share because of the cost benefits, improved flexibility and ease-of-use over the limited choices currently available." The new products are scheduled to be available by mid-summer 1998, and will offer both the upgraded versions of its current dedicated tooling fingers, and the new patent pending flexible articulated models. A full line of shovel-type fingers, grippers, part sensors, actuators, connectors, and tooling rails will be available in various sizes. Atlas also offers engineering support, including installation. According to Austin, "With extensive experience in stamping press automation, Atlas is a leader in its capability to adapt finger tools in transfer presses to the specific shape and size of the stamping. Since tooling is bought each time a new part is introduced, it provides Atlas with repeat order potential that complements our FLEX transfer press equipment business." SOURCE Atlas Technologies
