Donnelly Corporation Earns Four Pentastar Awards from Chrysler

HOLLAND, Mich., Jan. 15 -- Four Donnelly Corporation
plants have received Pentastar awards from Chrysler Corp.
in recognition of Donnelly's excellent performance in supplying
automotive mirrors, windows and interior trim and lighting.
All three of Donnelly's North American plants supplying Chrysler earned
the Gold Pentastar award for 1997. The plants, located in West Michigan, met
Chrysler's stringent standards for quality, cost, delivery and continuous
improvement activities, and achieved an average overall rating of 97 percent.
Chrysler also recognized one of Donnelly's newest manufacturing
facilities, Donnelly EuroGlas Systems in Langres, France, for its outstanding
1997 performance. In its second year of operation, Donnelly EuroGlas earned
the Pentastar award from Chrysler Eurostar. The operation improved
performance by more than 50 percent, and is now among Chrysler's top
suppliers.
"For Donnelly, winning the Pentastar awards serves two purposes," said
Donn Viola, chief operating officer for Donnelly's North American Operations.
"First, the awards recognize the great service we gave to Chrysler in 1997.
But more importantly, they remind us we must continue to improve and provide
our customers even better service in the future. As pleased as we are to have
received the award, that's history. The fact we won the award yesterday
doesn't mean anything for what we must do for our customers tomorrow."
