Oxford Automotive Inc. Appoints Mark Duddles as Vice President, Quality; Alberto Gallo as Vice President, Latin America

    TROY, Mich., Jan. 15 -- Oxford Automotive Inc., a Tier 1
manufacturer of engineered metal components, assemblies and modules, announces
the following appointments: Mark W. Duddles as vice president, quality, and
Alberto D. Gallo as vice president, Latin America.  The announcement was made
by Steven Abelman, president.

    MARK W. DUDDLES
    Duddles previously held the position of vice president, manufacturing for
Howell Industries Inc., a Tier 1 metal stamping and assembly manufacturer that
was acquired by Oxford Automotive in August 1997.  He had been with Howell
Industries since 1989.  Prior to joining Howell, Duddles had 13 years
experience in manufacturing and quality positions in automotive and
non-automotive industries.
    "Mark played an integral part in Howell Industries' exceptional
performance, and he will be a tremendous asset in the broadening of Oxford
Automotive's quality and customer focus," said Abelman.

    ALBERTO D. GALLO
    Gallo previously held the position of vice president of Mexican operations
for Thomas & Betts (previously Augat), a Tier 1 automotive manufacturer of
wire harnesses, since 1991.  Prior to that assignment, he spent nine years
with Acustar in Mexico.
    "Al brings to Oxford many years of experience in Mexico, and has
demonstrated the ability to put together teams that are capable of handling
rapid expansion, which we expect in the short term," Abelman said.
