Budget Signs Airline Agreement With El Al Israel Airlines

LISLE, Ill., Jan. 13 -- In a move to continue boosting its
international business, Budget Rent a Car Corporation announces a partnership
agreement with El Al Israel Airlines (El Al), effective Jan. 1, 1998.
El Al flies to 60 cities worldwide, including the U.S., and offers its
members three frequent flyer programs: Matmid Frequent Traveler, the Loyal
Traveler and the Buy/Fly Club. Budget operates locations in each of El Al's
destinations and offers great benefits to El Al program members when they rent
Budget vehicles.
As part of the partnership, El Al members qualify to earn 10 program
points when they fly El Al and rent a car from Budget (within seven days of an
El Al flight) using standard, Budget World Travel Plan or Business Traveller
rates at any participating Budget locations worldwide in any of the
participating destinations served by the El Al network and its partner
airlines.
El Al members also are eligible for a 10% discount on standard rates or
pay on arrival rates for Budget World Travel Plan or Business Traveller when
they request BCD#U021300. This discount is in addition to the 10 program
points earned by El Al members for a Budget rental.
To celebrate the launch of the partnership, Budget will be offering double
points to El Al members during the first quarter of 1998. Members who rent on
standard rates or pay on arrival rates for Budget World Travel Plan or
Business Traveller automatically qualify to earn double El Al program points
(20 points) at participating Budget locations. In addition, El Al program
members renting from Budget in Israel can earn triple program points (30
points) on Budget rentals through March 31, 1998.
"This new partnership will provide El Al frequent flyer program members
with benefits at a wide range of Budget locations, and it will specifically
help grow Budget's Middle East business among customers who fly with El Al.
Our strategic alliance is a valued addition to Budget's portfolio of
international airline partners," stated Mark Sotir, senior vice president,
Worldwide Marketing and Reservation Operations for Budget Rent a Car
Corporation.
