Salvette Named Vice President - Finance of Hayes Lemmerz Europe

    ROMULUS, Mich., Jan. 12 -- Hayes Lemmerz International, Inc.
has named John A. Salvette vice president - finance of Hayes
Lemmerz Europe, which is headquartered in Cologne, Germany.
    Prior to this appointment, Salvette served as corporate treasurer of Hayes
Lemmerz (formerly known as Hayes Wheels).  Before that, he was director of
investor relations and business planning, and, previously, group controller
for the company's North American Aluminum Wheel Business.
    Prior to joining the company in 1990, Salvette held various management
positions at Rockwell International's Automotive Operations.
    Salvette holds a bachelor's degree in economics from The University of
Michigan and a master's degree from The University of Chicago.  He and his
family recently relocated from Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Bonn, Germany.
    Hayes Lemmerz International, with annual sales of over $1.4 billion, is
