Ford Announces Executive Appointments

    DEARBORN, Mich., Jan. 9 -- Ford Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer Alex Trotman today announced the election of four new vice
presidents, effective immediately:

    *  Malcolm S. Macdonald has been elected vice president - Treasurer.
    *  Janet G. Mullins has been elected vice president - Washington Affairs.
    *  Dennis E. Ross has been elected vice president - Chief Tax Officer.
    *  William A. Swift has been elected vice president - Controller, Ford
       Automotive Operations.
