GE Capital Fleet Services Appoints Daniel Farrar to Head European Business UnitMINNEAPOLIS and BRUSSELS, Jan. 8 -- Daniel Farrar has been appointed president and chief executive officer of GE Capital Fleet Services - Europe, a business unit of GE Capital Fleet Services. "We are very pleased to announce this promotion," said Rick Smith, president and chief executive officer of GE Capital Fleet Services. "Dan has demonstrated outstanding abilities to manage, grow and drive change in our fleet business and will bring strong leadership, knowledge and experience to this important assignment." Most recently, Farrar was senior vice president of North American operations for GE Capital Fleet Services. Prior to that, he served as managing director for GE Capital Fleet Services, Ltd. in the United Kingdom. Farrar's background includes a broad range of experience in both the consulting industry and with General Electric. His previous assignments have included engineering, manufacturing/production control and product marketing. Farrar began his career at GE in 1984, as a manager in GE corporate business development in Fairfield, Conn. Farrar holds an engineering degree and an MBA from Harvard University.
