Peregrine Completes Plant AcquisitionSOUTHFIELD, Mich., Jan. 8 -- Peregrine has completed the acquisition of the door hinge and spare-tire carrier manufacturing operations of American Commercial Industries, Inc. (ACI), a Troy, Mich., automotive supplier. Peregrine announced plans for the acquisition in December. Peregrine Chairman and CEO Ed Gulda said, "We are very pleased with this acquisition. It greatly expands our share of the hinge market and customer base." The door hinge operation is located in Jackson, Mich., and the spare-tire carrier operation is located in Matamoros, Mexico. Headquartered in Southfield, Mich., Peregrine supplies interior and exterior products to the automotive industry through manufacturing operations in Battle Creek, Flint, Livonia and Warren, Mich.; and Oshawa and Windsor, Ontario. The company has annual sales of more than $1.1 billion. Peregrine was formed by Joseph Littlejohn and Levy, a private investment partnership, on Dec. 31, 1996.
