Metrotrans Corporation Receives Multiple Irizar Orders; Initial Orders Valued at $7.5 Million

GRIFFIN, Ga., Jan. 2 -- Metrotrans Corporation
today announced that it has received over 20 orders for new Irizar
motorcoaches. Metrotrans and Irizar have completed testing on the vehicle to
ensure USDOT compliance and expect to begin retail deliveries in the first
quarter of 1998.
Commenting on the acceptance of the Irizar, Metrotrans CEO Michael Walden
stated, "We are excited by the extremely positive response coach operators
have given the Irizar. This response is undoubtedly due to the innovative
features of the product and Irizar's uncompromising commitment to quality.
The Irizar coach represents a significant component in our growth plan and
product offering. The Irizar's 57-passenger capacity complements our existing
product line making Metrotrans the only company in the United States to offer
new vehicles with capacities of nine to 57 passengers. The full-size
motorcoach industry is vibrant and growing, and we believe the Irizar product
affords us the opportunity to be a substantial player in this discriminating
market."
Metrotrans is the exclusive marketing, sales and service agent in the
United States, all United States territories and Canada for Irizar's luxurious
40- and 45-foot motorcoaches. The first-quarter deliveries will constitute
the first time the coaches have been operated in the United States.
