Farmers Insurance Renews Partnership with CCC Information Services

Signs Multi-Year Pathways Workflow Platform Agreement

CHICAGO, Dec. 17 -- The Farmers Insurance Group of Companies,
a subsidiary of B.A.T. Industries and the United States' third largest
provider of automobile insurance, has signed an exclusive, multi-year contract
for CCC Information Services' Pathways(R) Workflow Platform. This contract
renews a partnership that began in 1993. CCC is the leading provider of
claims software and solutions for the automobile claims industry.
The new Farmers agreement expands the CCC relationship to include the
Pathways workflow platform and Guidepost decision support tools. Also
included in the agreement are collision estimating, the EZNet(TM)
communications system, total loss valuation and settlement services and
recycled parts valuation.
Pathways combines state-of-the-art application software, secure
communications and comprehensive data, easily accessed from an intuitive user
interface. Its common system architecture seamlessly integrates a suite of
value-added applications, such as electronic communications and decision
support tools, which enable efficiencies for Farmers' staff as well as
collision repairers participating in the company's Circle of Dependability
repair referral program.
"We are excited that Farmers has selected CCC's Pathways workflow platform
to achieve an improved, paperless, consumer-focused claims process," commented
Githesh Ramamurthy, President and Chief Operating Officer at CCC. "With more
than 1,000 Claims Representatives and operations in over 23 states, I am
heartened by Farmers' vote of confidence in both our commitment to provide
outstanding service on a national level and our long range technology
planning."
Headquartered in Los Angeles, Farmers Insurance includes the third-largest
auto and homeowners insurers and one of the nation's leading commercial
insurers, and also operates a major life insurance subsidiary. Farmers
Insurance currently operates in 30 states.
