MascoTech and Teksid Suspend Planned Transaction

    TAYLOR, Mich., Dec. 16 -- MascoTech, Inc. and
Teksid S.p.A. (Fiat Group) of Turin, Italy, have suspended a Memorandum of
Understanding concerning MascoTech's participation in certain of Teksid's
Steel Components Division businesses in Italy and Brazil.
    MascoTech and Teksid will continue to consider other opportunities for
collaboration relative to forged steel automotive components.
    Headquartered in Taylor, Michigan, MascoTech's businesses include
metalworked components for automotive engine and drive train applications and
products for the automotive aftermarket.
