AAA Direct Insurance Site Gives Power to the People, Reports AAA MichiganDEARBORN, Mich., Dec. 12 -- You need to make a change to your auto or home insurance policy; or you want to make a payment, but don't want to drive to the nearest agent location. What to do? Well, if you're a AAA Michigan member, you can log on to the Internet and accomplish all of this and more at AAA Direct, "Your Internet Insurance Agent," accessed by entering a Michigan zip code (such as 48126) at http://www.aaa.com, and then clicking on the insurance icon. "Adding a car or a new driver, changing an address or making other policy changes online is a first for auto and home insurers," said Rick Semack, AAA Michigan Strategic Planning Consultant. "And we are moving toward technology which will enable our customers to handle all insurance transactions online from beginning to end." The graphic design and user applications on the Web site highlight the concept of creating classic service in the age of technology. And tough security measures will protect the site from unauthorized access. According to Semack, all transactions are handled within an hour by a special AAA Michigan Member Service Center team, and payments are credited the next day. Detailed quote request forms make it possible for AAA to provide accurate quotes online, based on input from the customer. Online claim reporting and follow-up has been available online for more than a year on AAA Michigan's corporate Web site. "We recognize the importance of providing all our services in a way that fits the needs of the growing segment of members who use the Internet to take care of day-to-day business," said Semack. "As regulations relax and electronic signature issues are resolved, we will be able to offer even more online services." Accessed by entering a Michigan zip code (such as 48126) at http://www.aaa.com, AAA Direct provides AAA Michigan auto and homeowners customers with online transaction and payment capabilities, in addition to quote requests, an agent locator and product information. The service will be expanded soon to include other states where Auto Club Insurance Association and Auto Club Group Insurance Company products are offered. An expanded Life insurance Web site is planned for Auto Club Life in the spring. "Our creed," said Semack, "Is to provide service for our customers; how they want it; when they want it; and where they want it." SOURCE AAA Michigan
