Gagnon Announces Reorganization of Field Operations as the New C.O.O. at Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America

ORLANDO, Fla., Dec. 11 -- In his first major initiative as
the newly-appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at
Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America, Inc. (MMSA), Pierre Gagnon has announced a
reorganization of field operations at the Cypress, Calif.-based company.
"One of our key objectives at MMSA in the months and years ahead is to
become increasingly more customer-focused," said Gagnon, who was previously
Director of Customer Marketing at Saturn Corporation. "In order to meet the
expectations of our customers and of our retail partners who own and operate
Mitsubishi Motors dealerships, we must have a field operation that is both
empowered and accountable. And it must be an operation organized cross-
functionally so that everything we do that affects customers satisfaction is
managed cohesively."
Today's announcement by Gagnon will result in several changes in
responsibility among MMSA management, and a significant change in the way the
field operates. Kevin Ormes, formerly Group Vice President, Sales and
Marketing, will become Group Vice President, Retail Operations, with the
following Vice Presidents reporting to him: Dave McKenzie, Service and
Engineering; Bob LaBossiere, Parts; Mike Nash, Retail Strategies and Dealer
Support; Odis Reid, Franchise Development; Katy Bremer, (Director) Corporate
Logistics and Distribution.
The five MMSA regions will now be managed by newly-named Directors of
Regional Retail Operations, with each Director reporting directly to Ormes.
These regional Directors will be responsible for all aspects of field
operations in their respective geographic areas, with greater levels of
empowerment and accountability than in the previous field organization in
order to provide a more coordinated level of customer and dealer support.
Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America, Inc. was established in 1982 by
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, Tokyo, and markets a full line of vehicles,
including coupes, convertibles, sedans and sport utility vehicles.
