Data Source is Attributed to Bloomberg Financial Markets

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 9 -- Dura Automotive Systems, Inc.
, today issued a statement to clarify substantial factual
inaccuracies in a Crain's Detroit Business article the publication attributed
to data compiled by Bloomberg Financial Markets. The article appears on page
two of the Dec. 9, 1997 issue of Crain's Detroit Business.
According to the company, insiders have sold only 204,531 shares since the
company went public in August of 1996. The article inaccurately says insiders
have sold 1.46 million shares in the last 45 days. Currently, insiders hold
4,668,466 shares, the majority of which are Class B shares. Before Class B
shares can be sold, they are converted to Class A shares on a one-to-one
basis. Of the total shares sold, S.A. Johnson, chairman of Dura Automotive,
has sold a total of 50,000 shares, not the 75,000 shares total stated in the
article. He continues to hold 417,879 Class B shares. Milton Kniss has sold
9,031 shares, not the 18,031 share total that is indicated in the article.
