Alamo Rent A Car Names George J. Gremse President Of Alamo North America

    FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Dec. 9 -- Alamo Rent A Car today
announced that George J. Gremse has been appointed President of its North
American Operations.  Mr. Gremse succeeds Roger Ballou who resigned as Alamo's
President in September of this year.
    Mr. Gremse joins Alamo from Adecco S.A. where he was the worldwide Chief
Information Officer for the $7 billion international staffing company with
operations in 42 countries.  Prior to that position Mr. Gremse was President
of Adecco's North American operations with over 300 branches in the United
States and Canada.
    No stranger to the car rental business, Mr. Gremse has over 14 years of
experience working for Hertz Rent A Car and National Car Rental in positions
ranging from station manager to Division Vice President.  He was also a Vice
President at Citibank's New York Retail Banking Division.
    "George Gremse brings exceptional expertise to the Alamo organization.  We
look forward to his leading Alamo to new levels of achievement and performance
in the car rental industry," said Bill Lobeck, President of Republic
Industries Automotive Rental Group.
    Mr. Gremse is a graduate of Cornell University, the City University of New
York and served in the Peace Corps.  He will be relocating to the Alamo
corporate office in Ft. Lauderdale with his wife Joan, and two daughters,
Elizabeth and Maureen.
    Alamo currently serves more than 15 million travelers a year through 217
locations in the United States and Canada, and more than 180 international
locations in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, The Republic of Ireland, The
Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Greece, Portugal, The Czech Republic and the
Republic of Malta.
