BMW Announces New Sales Record

BMW Sets New Sales Record for U.S. Market; Year-to-Date Sales Up 13 Percent
WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J., Dec. 3 -- BMW of North America, Inc.
set a new sales record during the month of November and today reported
year-to-date sales of 111,896, up 13 percent over the same period last year.
The company also reported November sales of 8,572 compared to 9,167 for the
same period a year ago.
"This past month, we surpassed our previous sales record of 105,761 set in
1996, selling 6,135 more vehicles than we sold in all of last calendar
year. Strong demand for all BMW models throughout the year contributed to our
exceptionally strong sales," explained Victor Doolan, President of BMW of
North America, Inc.
BMW of North America, Inc. and Land Rover North America, Inc. are
members of the BMW Group. Consolidated U.S. November sales for the two
companies were 10,211 units (BMW: 8,572; Land Rover 1,639), an 11 percent
decrease over last year. Consolidated year-to-date sales were 133,196 vehicles
(BMW: 111,896; Land Rover: 21,300), an 11 percent increase over last year.
