Audi's Best November Sales in Eleven Years Fueled by Introduction of New 1998 Audi A6AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Dec. 3 -- Audi of America, Inc. reported U.S. sales of 3,253 for the month of November, representing a 49.8 percent increase over the same month last year when sales were 2,171. It was Audi's best November in eleven years and the primary driver of this success was the introduction of the daring new 1998 Audi A6 early in the month, supported by continued strong demand for the Audi A4 range. With total A6 sales of 1,505, Audi enjoyed its best A6-class sales month in over nine years. Audi has demonstrated this kind of year-over-previous-year sales increase for 34 of the last 36 months. So far in 1997, Audi has sold 30,129 automobiles representing a 25.2 percent increase over the same period last year when the total was 24,072. This month's sales results mark Audi's best year-to-date since 1987 and beat its 1996 full year performance of 27,379 by 10 percent. SOURCE Audi of America, Inc.
