Oxford Automotive Opens New Corporate Headquarters and Technology Center

TROY, Mich., Nov. 20 -- Oxford Automotive, Inc. today
announced the opening of their new corporate headquarters and technology
center in Troy, Mich. The automotive Tier 1 supplier of formed metal
components and systems was previously located in Bloomfield Hills, Mich.
"The new facility will allow the company to better serve automotive
manufacturers' demands by providing a base from which to grow and compete
globally," stated Steven Abelman, President and CEO of Oxford Automotive.
"Today, a Tier 1 metal forming company must provide deep design and
engineering experience and expertise, as well as demonstrate incredible
business flexibility. The operating systems we now have in place will allow
us to confront the challenges of the global industry alongside our customers."
Explains Larry Cornwall, Senior Vice President of Engineering and Business
Units for Oxford Automotive. "This new technology center represents Oxford's
evolution from a manufacturer of stamped metal components to a value-added
supplier of complex systems with full project management capabilities."
Today's focus on complex systems relies on cutting edge technology, which
Oxford Automotive has obtained by combining the strengths of mature metal
forming companies, including BMG, Lobdell-Emery and Howell Industries, with
the management skills and resources of a global automotive systems integrator.
Oxford is a leading full-service Tier 1 designer and producer of
high-quality, engineered metal components, assemblies and modules used by
automotive original equipment manufacturers. Oxford operates 12 manufacturing
facilities in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, with state-of-the-art technologies
in metal forming, welding and assembly equipment.
