Prices for 1998 Kia Sportage to Start at $14,895IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 19 -- Kia Motors America today announced a modest price increase for its 1998 Sportage sport-utility vehicle. The Sportage is available in two trim levels -- Sportage and Sportage EX -- and is offered in both two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configurations. The base Sportage 4x2 has a suggested list price of $14,895, a $400 increase from the 1997 base price of $14,495. The suggested list price for the well-equipped Sportage EX 4x2 model is $17,295. The least expensive Sportage 4x4 will carry a list price of $16,395, while the Sportage EX 4x4 will have a base price of $18,495. The Sportage continues to deliver excellent value by offering standard power door locks, power windows, dual remote power-activated outside mirrors, rear window defogger, intermittent windshield wipers, passenger-side vanity mirror, tachometer and digital clock. Other standard equipment includes a full-size spare tire carrier, a theft-deterrent system and dual airbags. Kia Motors America now has authorized dealers in more than 100 U.S. markets in 31 states.
