Simpson Industries Names New ChairmanPLYMOUTH, Mich., Nov. 19 -- Simpson Industries Board of Directors elected Roy E. Parrott Chairman of the Board effective November 18, 1997. He will also continue in his present capacity as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Parrott joined Simpson in 1989 as President and Chief Operating Officer and was elected Chief Executive Officer in April 1994. Mr. Robert W. Navarre, the former Chairman, retired from active company service in December 1994, but continued to serve as Chairman of the Board until this month. He will continue to serve as a director. Mr. Navarre said "the election of Mr. Parrott as Chairman of the Board successfully completes the executive succession plan that was initiated when Mr. Parrott joined Simpson Industries." Simpson Industries supplies powertrain and chassis products to original equipment manufacturers in the automotive and medium and heavy duty engine markets. Simpson's products are focused in four groups: noise, vibration and harshness; wheel-end and suspension; modular engine assemblies; and high- precision machined components.
