Federal-Mogul Announces Vice Presidential Appointments at Key Operations

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Nov. 11 -- Alan C. Johnson, executive vice
president of Federal-Mogul Corporation , announces the appointment
of Steven C. Feeny as vice president - general products operations and Michael
L. Fisher as vice president - oil seal and gasket operations.  In addition,
Wilhelm A. Schmelzer, vice president and group executive - engine and
transmission products, announces the appointment of Michael C. Verwilst as
vice president - engine and transmission products - Americas.  All
appointments are effective immediately.
    Feeny most recently held the position of general manager - general
products operations, a post he was appointed to in 1996.  During his 22-year
career at Federal-Mogul, he has held positions of increasing responsibility in
both manufacturing and aftermarket operations.  Prior to being general
manager, he was reengineering manager with the process development/change
management organization.  He has also served as manager of engine parts
marketing, controller of North American manufacturing operations, controller
of North American aftermarket operations, controller of national grinding
wheel division, financial analyst of North American operations, as well as
manufacturing plant accounting supervisor.  He joined Federal-Mogul as a
manufacturing plant labor relations representative at the Greenville, Michigan
plant in 1974.  He is a graduate of Michigan State University where he earned
a Bachelor of Arts in economics and a Master of Arts in social science.
    Fisher has held the position of general manager - oil seal and gasket
operations since 1996.  During his 30-year career with Federal-Mogul, he has
held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility in sales and
manufacturing.  Prior to his current appointment, he served as director of
sales and marketing, for the ball bearing business as well as Federal-Mogul's
oil seal operation.  Fisher joined Federal-Mogul in 1967 at the Van Wert, Ohio
plant.  He served twelve years in various manufacturing positions including
productions scheduling and control, purchasing and customer service
management, and inventory control.  He is a graduate of the University of
Illinois where he received a Bachelor of Arts in business management.
    Verwilst has been general manager - engine and transmission products,
Americas since 1995.  Prior to that he was the director of sales and
engineering, powertrain operations since October, 1993.  He has also held
positions as regional sales manager, industry sales manager, district sales
manager, and sales engineer at Federal-Mogul.  He started with the company in
1977 as a customer service representative.  Verwilst began his professional
career at Rockwell International as a project engineer.  A graduate of
Michigan State University, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical
engineering/marketing.
