North American-built Corolla sales in October were up 38 percent, with

"The newly-redesigned 1998 Corolla has exceeded our sales expectations in

highly successful launch of Toyota's all-new minivan, the Sienna. We are
pleased our combined car and truck October sales were off to a good start for
the beginning of the 1998 model year."
