Toyota's Chicago Region Posts Strong October SalesCHICAGO, Nov. 10 -- Toyota's Chicago Region car and truck sales for October were 5,484, a 12 percent increase over October's 1996 total of 4,902. North American-built Corolla sales in October were up 38 percent, with sales of 1,084. Toyota 4Runner had sales of 506, 30 percent over last October. RAV4 sales for the month of October were 413, an increase of eight percent. Camry sales increased three percent to 2,169. "The newly-redesigned 1998 Corolla has exceeded our sales expectations in its first month," said Dave Camden, general manager of Toyota's Chicago Region. "Adding to the increased sales for the month of October was the highly successful launch of Toyota's all-new minivan, the Sienna. We are pleased our combined car and truck October sales were off to a good start for the beginning of the 1998 model year."
