WJR's Paul W. Smith to Air Interview With Inside Automotives' Publisher And Apollo 13 Astronaut Jim Lovell

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Nov. 4 -- Inside Automotives
International's publisher, Carla Kalogeridis, and Apollo 13 Astronaut Captain
Jim Lovell will be guests on the Paul W. Smith morning show on WJR Radio 760,
Wednesday, November 5, 1997.
Captain Lovell is the keynote speaker at Inside Automotives
International's "Automotive Interior of the Year Awards," scheduled for next
Thursday, November 13th at the Westin Hotel, Renaissance Center, Detroit.
Johnson Controls, Inc. is the main sponsor of the event and is hosting Captain
Lovell's appearance at the awards ceremony.
"Although the awards program is in its fourth year, this year's black tie
event is really special," says Kalogeridis. "No one knows better than Captain
Lovell how important innovation in a vehicle can be, and we're excited that
our guests will hear firsthand the details of the incredible circumstances of
the Apollo 13 mission."
Another special new feature of the awards banquet is a Children's Room
sponsored by Freudenberg-Vitech. "We have rented the Rainbow Rascal's daycare
facility in the Renaissance Center so that attendees to the awards banquet can
have complimentary, loving, licensed care for their children while the event
is going on," explains Kalogeridis. "And the kids have an opportunity to meet
a true American hero when Captain Lovell stops by on his way to the banquet."
The Automotive Interior of the Year Awards recognize excellence in
automotive interiors, honoring one vehicle with a "best-in-class" interior in
each of four categories ... Car, Truck, Luxury, and Best Redesign. Winning
vehicles and their chief interior suppliers are recognized for their
contributions toward technological advancement, safety, design innovation, use
of materials, and furthering the consumer appeal of today's vehicles. The
consensus votes of an elite panel of judges, compiled by KPMG, will be
announced on award night from three finalists in each category.
Tables of eight with preferred seating and individual tickets are
available by calling 248-746-9940 for details and reservations.
