Republic Industries Appoints Robert Thomas Executive Vice President, Strategic MarketingFORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Nov. 3 -- Republic Industries, Inc. today announced the appointment of Robert J. Thomas as Executive Vice President, Strategic Marketing. Mr. Thomas is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Nissan Motor Corporation, U.S.A., the senior American position in the Nissan organization. In his new position, Mr. Thomas will be responsible for the company's overall strategic marketing and brand development initiatives as they apply to Republic's automotive activities. He will work directly with H. Wayne Huizenga and Steven R. Berrard, Co-Chief Executive Officers of Republic. Steven R. Berrard, President and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Republic said, "Bob Thomas will add his significant automotive sales and marketing experience to a senior management team at Republic that is already rich in automotive talent.
