Bundy Adds 'High Pressure Quick Connect' (HPQC) to Product Lineup

WARREN, Mich., Nov. 3 -- Bundy Group announced the
introduction of a new product line of "High Pressure Quick Connect (HPQC)"
connectors for automotive fluid carrying applications. HPQC allows brake and
other high pressure fluid systems to be snapped into place without the use of
hand or power tools.
"The development of HPQC permits automakers to push-in all high pressure
connections, such as brake, hydraulic clutch and power steering lines, making
installation faster and easier in the vehicle assembly process, without the
problem of cross-threading fittings. In addition, HPQC provides space savings
by eliminating the extra room required for using torque or wrench tools to
tighten traditional threaded fittings," according to Denny Soles, Bundy's
Director of technology.
HPQC is pre-assembled and mated to specific Bundy high pressure fluid
carrying applications, providing easy installation of a complete system. The
connector can also be removed when service is required.
HPQC is the result of four generations of design development, beginning
with Bundy's acquisition of Huron Products in 1992.
HPQC has already met all testing specifications, including 150,000 mile
validation in test vehicles. One manufacturer has already specified HPQC as
the preferred connector for production vehicles in 2001.
