OGDEN, Utah, Oct. 30, -- Mercury joins Tread Lightly!'s elite
Official Sponsor list. The division has donated a 1998 Mountaineer. The

and the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History for fund raising to benefit both
organizations.
Lincoln-Mercury, a division of Ford Motor Company became a sponsor of the

Lincoln-Mercury. "With its V-6 engine and all wheel drive capabilities,
Mountaineer encourages people to enjoy the great outdoors."
"This is the first time an Official Sponsor has donated a vehicle for a
raffle. It's a great way to generate funds to further its education message,"

Museum of Natural History and will be given away on November 7. Five hundred

which can be recycled.
This sport utility vehicle is a five speed automatic with a V-6 engine.
It features a control trac 4x4 system and moonroof. Second prize will be $500
cash and $200 cash will be awarded to the third and fourth place winners.

Tread Lightly! was launched in 1985 by the U.S. Forest Service to help
protect public and private lands. To maximize its effectiveness, program
responsibility was transferred to the private sector, making Tread Lightly! a
not-for-profit organization. Protecting the great outdoors through education
became Tread Lightly!'s mission. Ensuring future use of land and water became
its purpose. Tread Lightly!'s message now reaches an international audience
of outdoor recreationists. Through the service of Tread Lightly!,
recreationists learn that opportunities to use the outdoors tomorrow depends
on how they recreate today.
