Hayes Lemmerz International, Inc. Completes Exchange Offer For 9-1/8% Senior Subordinated Notes

    ROMULUS, Mich., Oct. 28 -- Hayes Lemmerz International, Inc.
announced that its offer to exchange all of its outstanding
9-1/8 percent Senior Subordinated Notes due 2007 for 9-1/8 percent Series B
Senior Subordinated Notes due 2007, which have been registered under the
Securities Act, expired at 5 p.m. New York City time on October 24, 1997.
    According to The Bank of New York, the exchange agent, all of the $400
million principal amount of notes outstanding had been tendered in response to
the exchange offer.
