ITT Industries Names Geissinger, Chambers Corporate Officers

    WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Oct. 21 -- ITT Industries
announced today that its Board of Directors has elected Dr. Jurgen Geissinger
and Thomas V. Chambers Vice Presidents of the Company. Geissinger also serves
as Chairman of the Management Board of ITT Automotive Europe GmbH, and is
responsible for the Brake & Chassis systems worldwide production group.
Chambers is also worldwide head of ITT Automotive's Electrical Systems
business unit.
    "Both of these gentlemen hold critical positions in our global automotive
business," said Travis Engen, Chairman, President and Chief Executive of ITT
Industries.  "Their election as corporate officers by our Board reflects their
importance to the ultimate success of ITT Industries as well.  We look forward
to the leadership roles they will play."
    Geissinger, 38, joined ITT Automotive in Frankfort in 1992 as Head of
Central Production Engineering, and later became General Manager of Electronic
Brake Systems.  Prior to joining ITT Industries, Geissinger  worked in the
Chairman's office of Heidelberger Druckm, AG in Germany.  He holds a doctorate
in engineering from the University of Stuttgart.
    Chambers, 53, also joined ITT Automotive in 1992 as General Manager of
North American Brake Systems.  Prior to joining ITT Automotive, Chambers was
director, Brake Systems Unit, Delco Chassis Division with General Motors.
Chambers holds a masters degree in management from the Sloan School of the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
